With more than 35 years of leadership and human resources experience, Beverly “Bev” Widger is a trusted HR consultant serving nonprofit organizations, municipalities, associations, and small businesses throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. Through her consulting practice, HRXperienced, Bev provides practical, people-centered solutions that help organizations strengthen leadership, improve workplace culture, and navigate complex human resource challenges.
A former Chief Human Resource Officer at Mascoma Bank, Bev helped develop award-winning human resource programs, innovative employee benefits, leadership development initiatives, and workplace culture strategies. Today, she brings that strategic expertise to organizations seeking experienced HR leadership, executive recruitment, compensation guidance, benefits consultation, policy review, and management training.
Over the past several years, Bev has built a successful consulting practice focused primarily on nonprofit and mission-driven organizations. She is known for helping boards, executive directors, and management teams address workforce challenges with practical solutions that align with organizational goals and values. Known for her engaging and practical style, Bev regularly facilitates training for managers, supervisors, executive directors, and nonprofit boards. Her presentations and workshops focus on leadership development, employee relations, performance management, communication skills, legal compliance, governance responsibilities, and creating positive workplace cultures.
Throughout her career, Bev has worked with organizations in banking, healthcare, accounting, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, distribution, education, media, municipal government, and nonprofit services. Her early career as a classroom teacher gave her a unique ability to explain complex HR concepts in ways that are understandable, engaging, and immediately applicable.
A respected leader in the human resources profession, Bev holds both the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credentials. She is certified in the Predictive Index and has completed Mental Health First Aid training. She was recognized by the New Hampshire State HR Council as one of New Hampshire’s HR Heroes and received the Steve Taylor Award for Community Service in recognition of her longstanding volunteer leadership and commitment to her community.
Community service remains central to Bev’s work. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards and committees, including Leadership New Hampshire, Career CLiC, Sullivan County United Way, the River Valley Human Resource Association, and the SHRM Vermont State Council. She continues to support community organizations through volunteer leadership and historic preservation efforts, including her work preserving and promoting the nationally significant Maxfield Parrish Stage Set in Plainfield, New Hampshire.
Bev earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Plymouth State University. When she is not consulting, she enjoys researching local history, exploring new technologies, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
